Do I have to stay for the whole day?
No. If you work, have class, or have other obligations, you can stay for only a portion of the workshop.
When or how do I pay to attend?
Please pay with cash when you arrive to the workshop.
What if I've never used any of this software before?
Both workshops have a "Basics" lesson for 2-3 hours. Come for these sessions, even if you've never so much as opened the program. Alternatively, request a tutoring session in the RSVP form on the right.
Will there be other workshops during the semester?
No. ASID SDSU offers these workshops once a semester.
Where should I be in the program before doing these workshops?
You will need digital rendering skills BEFORE you take ID3. These skills are optional - but very helpful - for ID 1 and ID 2.
Do I even need to learn these programs? Are they used professionally?
Design and Architecture firms use AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Revit. Most are moving away from AutoCAD and towards Revit exclusively. SketchUp is frequently used for presentations. Small residential design companies mostly still use traditional presentation skills, but Photoshop is used to present design concepts and create project boards.
